Explore The  Real  Johannesburg

A little bit about me.

I was born and bred in Johannesburg, and have had a passion for travel all my life.

Besides jaunts overseas and further north into Africa, I’ve done extensive travel in Southern African – Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mocambique, Eswatini, Lesotho as well as every corner of South Africa.

I’ve also learnt a lot about my own backyard.

By spending time exploring and discovering, I’ve developed a real love for the city – warts and all!

Johannesburg is without doubt South Africa’s most African city, and must be the continents most cosmopolitan.

My preference to walk the road less traveled and find that niche that the masses seem apt to avoid, has helped nurture this passion.

I don’t believe a dull picture should be given a rosy glow, or vice versa, and have tried to be objective in all my comments.

Having said that, they are still my own opinions, and could often be in conflict with guide books, what others have told you or what your own perceptions are.
